Some of the 'flyest' hair styles on campus are not done in upscale salons, but in the dorm room of a soft-spoken young lady who first blessed the campus with her talents in the fall of 2007, when she first enrolled at FSU as a freshman. She does everything from full head cornrows and micro-braids to full and partial head sew-in weaves as low as $30. Check her out!
Name: Klade Helena Williams
Hometown: Charlotte, NC
Major: Biology
Classification: Junior
How did you get started doing hair? I did my first braid at the age of 3. From there I just kept learning and getting better. Also, my mom is from Africa and grew up around hair being done in the house.
Your major is biology. Have you ever considered getting a cosmetologist license or opening up a salon? I actually want to be a dermatologist. I was thinking about owning a big spa, where people visit and get their hair and nails done, as well as getting their skin checked out.
What about Fayetteville State University do you enjoy the most? The great people
What do you encourage for girls who want to maintain healthy hair but may not have the funds to visit a salon bi-weekly? www.youtube.com has great tutorials for learning how to do hair. I learned a lot from it as well
What is your most memorable moment at Fayetteville State University? One night my roommate and I found a roach [in our dorm room]. We moved all the furniture out to the lobby to find it, and ended up staying up all night and cleaning to find it. We found it, but we didn't get any sleep and the dorm was super clean!
