The Celebration of Women

During the last century, women have achieved greatness in fields ranging from science and technology, to arts and journalism. Women of varying races, cultures, religions, and nationalities have emerged from behind their male counterparts to reveal impressive talents of all sorts. Although women remain heralded across the globe for an assortment of triumphs, issues that negatively affect female behavior still exist. Each culture of women still owns a set of specific stereotypes and prejudices that continue to set them back two steps for every one they attempt to take. This year, Fayetteville State University began the tradition of celebrating and educating women on the campus and in the community by holding Women's Wednesday each third Wednesday of the month. Each Wednesday, a guest speaker will discuss a topic in relation to the growth, psychological health, emotional well-being, and culturing of young women at FSU. Visit the November Women's Wednesday session on November 18, 2009 at 2pm in Lyons Science Annex. Appreciate and relish in the celebration of women!
